OPD investigating hit and run in Odessa

An Odessa man is in critical condition following an auto-pedestrian crash that occurred late Saturday night in south Odessa, according to a press release from the Odessa Police Department.

OPD and Odessa Fire Rescue responded at about 10:30 p.m. to the 3300 block of South Dixie in reference to a hit and run involving a pedestrian. Investigation revealed that a 30-year-old man was walking on the west side of the roadway.

A pickup was traveling in the 3300 block of South Dixie Avenue and struck the pedestrian. The driver failed to stop and render aid and fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
